Game Localization

YOU TAKE YOUR GAMES SERIOUSLY.  We Take Game Localization Seriously.

Games are serious business, so your game localization has to step up and ensure the experience is equally exciting in any language.

The gaming world is user-centric as games are interactive, including UI, menus, control mapping and other issues. With creative content, including avatars, animated allies and enemies, and invented words, players expect to be immersed in a whole new world.

Marginal translation errors and a lack of understanding of cultural references can destroy the gamer’s experience.

Video game localization doesn’t start with translation. Members of the translation team familiarize themselves with your games, so that they understand themes, characters, how to win and how to lose, the different skill levels needed, as well as the mood of the game.

Translation comes next, followed by recording in our onsite studio using voice-over actors trained in the target languages and required nationalities and dialects. The translation team provides guidance for staying on-point and in character, and studio engineers time-synchronize the recording.

The recordings are edited, mixed, and tested, and while the recording progresses, the translation team works with our engineers on your images and graphic materials.

Video games can be localized on the following platforms:

  • Sony PlayStation 3
  • Microsoft Xbox 360
  • Nintendo Wii
  • Microsoft Windows
  • Mac
  • Solaris/Linux
  • And many hand-held gaming devices

Medialocate offers complete game localization to remove the language barrier for gamers of all ages across all platforms. Our games translators are specifically vetted for skills beyond those required for standard translations.

And, Medialocate provides in-house and onsite testing to make sure your localized versions are as authentic the original.
